Our DS developed a sickness bug during the night, we were out yesterday in a restaurant. I realised this morning that he had drank water from the restaurant that had been stored in a Jug, could this have caused it?

My health visitor said it is ok to give him tap water now, so I have been for two months and he has been fine.

Any ideas?

Tbh he could have caught it from any where :( theres alot going round at the moment and with it being half term there are children everywhere which increases possible contact with all these bugs. U will give yourself a headache trying to analyze where it coulda come from. Tap water is fine from six months as far as I'm aware . Unfortunately babies and children get ill it's coughs colds and tummy bugs from here on in. Just make sure he drinks plenty of fluids and formula/breast milk and just give him plain food if he will eat and Hopefully he will get better soon. There's a&e and the ooh go if ur worried :)

Vomiting and diarrhoea can caused by all kinds of things. If it's related to poor hygiene - grubby fingers in mouths, for example - the reaction is usually within a few hours and is short-lived. If it's a tummy-bug it can be picked up almost anywhere, from anyone, and can take from a few hours to a few days to emerge and carry on longer.

Rest the gut by giving him cooled boiled water only until the sickness has stopped for several hours. Then try very plain, non-fatty foods... dry bread, rice-cakes, cooked apple etc. If the sickness carries on for more than a day, go to a gp.
