Terry squares - advice needed on wraps and nippas

My pal is due her first baby on Weds and has decded to use terry squares, we've offered to get her wraps and nippas but just want to check a couple of things:

She likes our motherease wraps, will these fit ok over terry squares? Also on a fastening front will a nippa do the job on a new born fold or will she need to use a couple of pins to start with? Would anyone recommend anything other than motherease - ie want to get her the best thing I can in terms of wraps so if something else would fit better!?

Hope these aren't too dumb a set of questions but need to buy soon as she wants to use her terrys from when she gets home (using diposable in hospital, then until run out)
Thanks x

I used Motherease over terry squares and found they were fine. There are some elaborate folds you can try out to pad out certain areas, if there are any leaks. I invented a variation on the traditional kite fold to add more absorbtion to the front for my little boy.

I used nippas too, but had a few pins. Can't remember what I used at first, though it certainly doesn't hurt to have some pins around.

Best of luck to your friend. We were soooo glad that we used real nappies. I bought a few motherease shaped nappies as time went by, though I loved my squares, it has to be said.

Hi I bought and used Motherease onesized nappies mainly because there was no way dp could grasp folding the terriy squares (well not quickly enough for me to keep my sanity anyway) but I have used both terry and muslin squares with the ME wraps on occasion and they have been fine and no leaks. Natures babies do similar wraps too which have another set of poppers across the middle of hte wrap so are more adjustable but Ive never used them so cant say how good or otherwise they are. Check them out here

Sorry I dont know about nappy nippas as I never used them.

Motherease Air Flow are the ones I use with my terry squares and also a nippa to hold the fold in place (we use the Jo Fold on the Nappy Lady Site). I started with 50% squares and 50% shaped nappies and found the squares no bother really - also got a great sense of satisfaction from the folding/nippering and also love seeing them hanging on the line! (but maybe I'm just a bit sad like that )

Thanks for all the replies, will go ahead and order the motherease wraps and nippas for her plus a few pins so she's got the option. Thanks for your help I'm sooo excited about the soon to be arrival - my pal and her dh were just fab when our dd was born back in Sept and I just want to make sure we support them as much as poss too
