No danger of infection, am I right?

I've invited my friend and her2 month old over to spend time with me and my 2 month old. Apparently she was exposed to chicken pox 2 weeks ago and has never had it, but is showing no signs so far. I had it when I was 5. Both of us are ebf. Me and my LO aren't at risk if she comes over, are we?

If she or you were pregnant it may have been an issue, but chicken pox is best to be had while young surely?

There's young and then there's 2 months old...

Tbh I really hope my friend hasn't got it for her sake because chicken pox as an adult sucks and her dh works away...

Gecko had chicken pox at 7 weeks. Wasn't too bad ish Grin but she then got chicken pox again at 2 and then shingles at three.

Might be to do with her getting it do young or it might not. My mum gets shingles each year ever so mildly and she never got it extremely young.

I don't think you're in danger of infection but if your little one gets it it won't be too bad at all especially if you're ebf

All this is just imho SmileSmile

She is still in the incubation period (so she might be about to develop spots, she just doesn't know it, but she still could be infectious). She probably had it when she was a kid, so it's unlikely, just not improbable. You are fine, your LO is probably fine cos of ebf but again you can't be 100% sure. So basically it's probably ok but if you want to be certain, wait a week until she's in the clear!
