Help need to prioritise but what??

I'm so stressed and fed up!!!!
I have so many things that I need to do but just lookin at the essentials of home life and studying I don't know where to start. What would you prioritise?

Current assignment -
3 assignments due in before april and it takes me weeks just to do one due to fitting in 3 7:45am-8:15pm placement shifts a week and having a 3yr old and a 5yr old and all the other mundane house stuff.

Spending time with kids -
I mean proper quality time. I take them to their swimming classes and school and cook their meals when at home and bedtime stories and that but don't spend proper time. Today was suppose to take them iceskating but its just not feesible and would love to take my 5yr old to the local ice hockey match tonight but could really do with doing my assignment.

Shopping -
The weekly shop ahhhhhhh. dh is brilliant but he works long shifts too and can't do the shop till thursday. I'm on placement all day mon, tue and weds so its either today or thurs but the kids need pack lunch stuff and we ned washing powder and all that chow.

Exerxise -
I'm normally pretty good at swimming or going to the gym, however haven't had the time since early dec. Put on a stone over christmas and can only fir into a pair of trousers and a pait of jeans...rest of clothes are too tight and can't afford to buy more. I have tried watching what I eat but after a 12 hour shift on my feet with only a half hour break....i don't care what i put in my mouth as long as it has some nutrtional value and yeas that includes anything sugary. my placement is on a childrens ward where thankful parents buy the staff chocs and treats to say thanks....so they are classed as nutrtional value when your dead on your feet.

Seeing friends -
thats if I still have any....haven't seen anyone for ages...though did manage to grab a quick cuppa and a catch up last week with one. I need my friends as much as I need to get all the above done today.

Sorry its so long but typing on here is a treat though missing out on breakfast. What would you prioritise for today???? advice needed pleaseeeee

screwballmuppet - sympathy! you are not alone though if it helps, this is life when you have young kids isn't it!

OK in my humble view, for today - prioritise quality time with the kids! Go out for the day, somewhere beach / country park / farmish if you can - then you can combine quality time with some exercise as well!

I'd fit in your assignment work 'little and often' though I know this is not easy - but you can always get an extension on an assignment, whereas you can't on your kids childhood!!!!!

You're on the net, so why not use the internet for food shopping? We use the tesco site and all it is is sitting on the net for half an hour to do the shop, then you book your delivery slot and wait for it to come to the door! We have found that our shopping bill has really gone down, too - because you're not wandering the aisles seeing those little extras. We keep to our list and easily save more a week than we pay onthe £5 delivery.

Any of this help?

I would try and get some of one of your assignments done this morning but don't spend longer than 3hours max on it, then take your child to the hockey match tonight - think that should be a must if you said you would go. As far as the shopping goes can you do it online and get it dilivered, that should save you some time - if not, buy the essentials from your corner shop and do the rest on Thursday.

Give one of your friends a call and arrange a night out, say in a week or so, that way you are staying in touch but also iving yourself some time to get something done. Would one of your friends give you a hand if you are that rushed off your feet?

Aboove all, destress! You only have one pair of hands, just take it one step at a time

Oh, and get off here

Thanks!! you've been helpful
am doing a bit of work now.....kids are watching cartoons. Have rang dad up and he's coming up to keep kids busy for couple of hours. I'm going to do as much work as I can till about 2-3ish and then put it away and focus on the kids solely and take ds1 to game tonight.
Just going to nip to corner shop for essentials then do the shop online in future. will walk to corner shop instead of using car so I'm doing something exercise.
You've both been a help thankyou and definately going to oganise a night out with friends and stick to it.
