Naming day gifts

We have decided to have a naming day instead of a traditional Christening for our 7mo ds, because we are not religious. We have asked some people to be "guide parents" for him and I want to get them a gift on the day to say thank you. I would like it to be something special and personal. I would also like to get a gift for my 4yo ds, to make him feel special on the day too. Has anyone got any ideas for me please? I'm not sure what to get. Thanks.

Having a naming ceremony is a lovely idea. That's what we did for our DCs too.
I didn't give any presents to the guide parents. I'm not quite sure what to suggest for those.
For the children, I bought a clock for them each to give to the other. I bought them over the internet and they were personalised with the children's names. They each have them on their bedroom walls and still remember that they gave them to each other.

That's really sweet Ruthchan. I'm now thinking of a personalised photo frame for them. A clock is a really nice idea for the children to give to each other. It's really nice that your children still remember. : ) Thanks.

Hi Gemtubbs, we had a naming day for our DS, any have lots of comments on what a lovely day it was! We had 'Oddparents' and got mugs done with Fairy Oddmother and The Oddfather on, with things they liked, and 'from DS' on the bottom. They were a big hit. I also got a personalised naming day guest book, and each guest wrote a comment, and we took a picture of them and put it next to the comment.... really lovely to read now. Have a great day.

I love the name Oddparents!!
I did a similar thing with guest comments. I asked all the guests to write messages on little cards. I then made a photo album of the day and put the messages along side photos of the people who wrote them.
It's a lovely souvenir.

We had a Naming ceremony for our boys about 6 months ago.

Our 4 year old drew his baby brother a lovely picture. We have framed it and put it up on the wall in DS2 room. DS1 showed it to everyone on the day. I can't remember what we got for DS1, will have a think.

We gave the Guide parents a photo of the boys. Not very original but still nice!

Have a lovely day!
