My DS2 is 23 months and going through the awful hitty phase. Thing is he has an 8 week old baby sister and although he loves to cuddle her he will often suddenly hit her, pull her hair or scratch her.
I have started to use time out when he does this and he is familiar with this form of punishment as his big bro has them but he always looks pretty gleeful after an incident and fear the attention he gets s encouraging. I totally do the whole praising when good but am not that good at ignoring the bad....
I guess what I am asking is: a) how do I stop him? I don't want to never let him cuddle her. b) will it affect her? I can't bear to see her cry because she had her hair pulled seems so unfair at 8 weeks!
Any advice?
