Just teething? Are you sure?

Dd 11mnths for the past 3 nights has cried inconsalably for hours at night, she is exhausted but just cannot sleep. She wakes every 2 hours or so and takes at least 1 hour to go back to sleep.

Just finished course of anti biotics as she had sore throat and ear infection.
Not too bad during the day, a little clingy.
Dh and I are both exhausted.
Do we take her back to the docs or is this par for the course for teething?
On teeth 7&8, nothing like this on the last 6.
No red cheeks, never dribbled anyway.

TIA

If you're worried about anything health-related, ever, always go back to the GP. Many illnesses that present similar symptoms end up as a process of elimination. GPs will treat the most obvious, common cause first and, if that doesn't work within a reasonable period, then move onto the next possible. If you don't let them know that the child is still unwell, they assume the treatment worked. If you think the symptoms are dragging on for too long, talk to them. It could be that she needs another course of antibiotics, for example.

They'd always rather see you again and reassure you than think you were sat at home worrying. Good luck

Thanks, we took her back to the GP today and there are no signs of anything.

One thing we are trying is calpol and ibuprofen without colouring as I think it was making her hyper. At this point I will try anything it's heartbreaking to hear her in pain, truly awful.

I noticed she had some nappy rash today which I read is a symptom. Lets hope it ends soon, I'm thoroughly exhausted and we have all been ill for over a month but can't shake it off as not getting enough sleep. Sad
