Just wanted to see what other people do re internet usage in their homes. My DD 8 and DS6 are always trying to go on the internet. They like CBeebies and CBBC but only to play the games, FRIV (awful) and you tube (DS mainly, watching the wiggles so pretty harmless). I seriously think they would be on it 24/7 if I let them, especially DS. How do you regulate this? I use a time limit, making sure homework / music practice done first. No Friv on weekdays. With the hols approaching I just wondered how others manage it. I hope that with the better weather coming it may be less of an obsession! Hmm
THANKS

Computer time/iPad use and watching TV is limited to 30mins a day but in reality they're never on it for that long as there's homework/reading/music practice to be done. I figure they work so hard at school that they need to switch off.

Agree that Friv is awful and i have very strict rule that they are not allowed on YouTube unless DH and I are there to check out that it's suitable for them to watch. DCs are 7 & 10 btw.

If you want to get them off the internet, best to distract them with something else. As you say the weather is getting better now so they'll be able to play outside after school.

We've always had a "no screens in the day" rule, which works for the holidays. Mine are teenagers now though, so on it for many hours in the evening, but I guess that's slightly different.

No pc, laptop, iPad or game consoles during the week.
