WHY ARE CHILDREN SUCH HARD WORK??

Don't get me wrong I love my 2 like mad but the eldest is getting so moany at me. He's nearly 8 and everything is a groan or a slouch, unless it involves his friends then it's full steam ahead.

Anyone else got a moany 7 yr old?

No only moany 2 yr old, but are you saying they get moanier as they get older?

God help us!

winnie · 02/02/2006 19:22

because they are children ;)

Good lord...if I knew the answer to that i'd be a billionaire!

I have a rude, moany, know-it-all nearly 7 yr old if anyone wants one......

hormonal 11 year old ds who says "i hate you" quite frequently and in the next breath "i love you", been like this since he was 9.

he told me quite proudly on sunday that hes got 2 pubes so that is why he is so moody so i should let him off!

bloody know it all

poppiesinaline · 02/02/2006 20:40

PMSL. 2 pubes , does it really happen that soon!!?

7777777 · 02/02/2006 21:01

fraid it does poppies! hes been hunting for over a year now and shoving his bits in my face saying "look see i told you i had pubes", they were blond then but when he "showed" me again at weekend, he was so proud and pointed out the black ones!

it would explain his strops! my mates have said the proper hormones kick in about 13years old and i dont think he'l be flashing to me then, well i hope not!!

elmie · 17/03/2006 23:35

Hi, I have a moany 10year old, but he was worst at 7y, he is better now, but for how long? Loves his mates, and can get carried away sometimes, with them. 5 year old can be a dramer queen as well!
Don't worry your not on your own!!!! SSD. Its just their bodies doing funny things to them!

Just had a mad shouting match with my 9year old, Who is too layed back( I did most of the shouting). I bagged him to do his project, last week, and he said he would try harder on his porject(its 4 weeks long, we are on our last week) But I am still having to push HIM all the way!! Some times he say he do it later and only spents 20 mins on it, which is not long enough! and its rushed. When I tell him I will not help him he gets upset! What is a mother to do!
My partner thinks children should not be given too much home work. And refuses to help much or hes too tried from work. I get fedup of pushing all the time. I know he can do the work because he has done it before. And he has picked something he enjoys reading about(solar systerm). May be its because hes a boy and their are conisder more lazy then girls? He was not like this before! HELP. I don't want to shout at my big boy anymore. It upsets me and him.

wanderingstar · 22/03/2006 15:01

7777777 that's bloody hilarious! I have to say it's been a while since I saw my 12yo ds's "bits"; occasionally he'll deign to jump in the bath to keep ds3(2) company, but that's about it. No body talk from him yet; I think he'd rather not talk to me about it all.

As for moody; my 7yo dd takes the biscuit atm. Stroppy little madam. She was so sunny and cheerful all the time until about 3-4 months agoSad Is it hormones or is she tired after our heavily viral laden winter, I wonder?

wanderingstar, changed name from 7777777. since i last posted my ds has def turned into a kev and perry and the ripe old age of 11. leaves crisp wrappers under the sofa and stuffed behind cushions, sulks in his room. dont see how it can get any worse but im sure it does.......def have to sign him up to army when hes 16Grin
