Is there a portable car seat for 1 year olds?

Going on holiday to the far east soon and would really love to find a safe but portable car seat for my 1 year old, will lug our usual one if we have to but am wondering if there are any alternatives.

Won't spend a lot of time in cars but will definitely have to make a few short trips and one 2 hour journey.

Are we talking a 12 month old or a 23 month old? My 16 month old DD can still use her Maxi cosi cabriofix infant carrier - she is well over 70 cms long now (and that is over the 75th centile for her age) but her eyes are nowhere near above the back of the seat and she is still under 13 kgs so it is perfectly safe to use even though most parents have moved them into the next stage by now. If this is the case with your DC do you still have the first car seat they had and is it up to 13 kgs?

If you are talking a nearly 2 year old then I am not sure what to suggest sorry.......

My 16 month old is still in her cabriofix too!!!

Great suggestions- she's been forward facing for a while now but more because of her hatred of rear facing, she's a small 15m so am sure she'll still fit.

Thanks!

Both my DD's were in their infant carrier seats till around 14/15mths.

If not then the Kiddy Energy Pro is Very lightweight for travelling.
