We don't. Our choice. He has the occasional bit of chocolate as a treat.

AIBU not to give him them/ ask other people not to? My opinion is that as he gets older i won't be able to stop him at parties and things, and wouldn't want to, but at the moment they're inappropriate and he's too little.

Any views?

No, I'd never let dcs (5 and 3) have boiled sweets or lollies, purely because of the chocking hazard, esp as it's really hard to persuade them to sit still with anything like that. They have occassional chocolate.

Couldn't care less what other people think - when I was 8 one of my school friends choked to death in the street on a boiled sweet. Never forgotten it, and 9imo) not a risk worth taking. They don't need things like that.

No. 2yo DS is just about allowed refined sugar (PFB :o) but that's because other people started giving it to him when I wasn't there and I don't want to give him the idea that food is bad, just that some foods are occasional treats only.
