Chicken pox - how contagious?

DS is 15 mo and was exposed when a boy at his CM was contagious. How likely is it that my DS will now develop it?

Asking purely from a logistical point of view to ensure i have adequate annual leave left to cover it should he fall ill! I'd actually he rather gets it when he's little to get it over and done with, but i don't have much leave left!

Thanks.

It is difficult to say how likely he is to contract it (eg I was exposed to it loads as a child even sharing a room with my sister who had cp, and didn't get it - until I was 15).

The incubation period is up to 3 weeks, so it will be a case of wait and see. Good luck.

DS1 has got chicken pox although he's out the 'contagious' period now and will be going back to nursery tomorrow (he's 4.11yo). It's doing the rounds just now, very common this time of year.

I suspect DS2 will get it too, but too early to say. hazeyjane has it right, you'll have around 3 weeks to find out either way!:)
