Right now I would give my life savings for someone to take away my children for the day so I could snuggle on the sofa feeling sorry for myself. Really miss being able to phone in sick.

What do you do to get through the day when poorly?

Sleep when they sleep (if they still sleep); bribe them with snacks/telly/whatever keeps them quiet! Try and go out for a walk if you can face it, keeps them occupied without too much input from you. Hope you feel better soon.

The iPad (YouTube) has worked for a little while. :)
metalhead - unfortunately no sleep here but I have aloud all toys to be spread all over the floor. Tv to be on all day, lost of snacks.
Is it bed time yet?

There should be some sort of nursery that you can drop them off to when you need it.

It is at times like this when having family nearby that are helpful must be a godsend!

My 19m was up being sick all night, so I didn't send my 4yr old into preschool as she had a shocking night with being woken by pukey, and both kids are fine but tired and grouchy and I am knackered and grumpy, can't wait til bedtime!

I want a sick day and I'm not even sick!

One of mine is and had been complaining/not sleeping all day - he is ill.

My 2yr old is mid-potty training and has been having accidents all over the house.
My 4yr old missed the toilet in a spectacular fashion while I was trying to tidy up after lunch.

Sorry to make you all jealous ........ I'm having a sick day, I'm in bed with the laptop, having meals and drinks brought to me.Its the best holiday anyone could give me !

HouseworkProcrastinator · 07/03/2012 14:48

Olbasoil - are you REALLY sorry to make me jelouse? Which I am. :)

Have tried to get my two year old to make me coffee but she refused, probably for the best as I am sure there are safety issues hehe

It's a long long day.

Really feel for you OP, just recovering from a really bad cold (high temp, body aches etc, not just snotty nose), I let ds watch cbeebies for two days and, very luckily, my dddddm took him out for a few hours yesterday. It's the worst feeling isn't it? Do the minimum possible and get lots of fluids into you.

I thought it was bad being up with a poorly boy, even worse is that both DH and I have been up all night with the sickness bug!
