Your thoughts on my feedback

I received the following comments on my (unsatisfactory) PG assignments, please can you let me know your thoughts on reading them (I have quoted verbatum):

"it reads a little bit like a shopping list rather than a PG level assignment"

"you used a different lense"

"You have indicated that you intend to analyse althougth there is little analytical content, see comments below."

"This is all very interesting, however, it is important to link your knoweledge to the title of the assignment"

I would just like the insight of other students on this feedback.....

I'm not a student, sorry, but I would say this sounds a bit patronising. I hope they also gave you some constructive ideas of ways to improve!

I think the first comment is harsh, but the others seem reasonable, although obviously I haven't seen your assignment. Is it possible you strayed from the question/title?

hi baby teeth, thank you.

I have many, many issues one of which being that I don't find the feedback constructive so very hard to know what to do to improve Sad

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully some students will come along with some advice and experiences... is it possible to let the tutor know it is not clear for you what to do to improve? Is there any extra study support available at the college?

Sounds like your work was overly descriptive with little analytical content - hence the 'laundry list' type comment...(I'm an academic and this is a common problem with assignments)...& other comments seemed to relate to not keeping to the point. How much critical analysis and wider reading do you feel you've achieved for this assignment? It does tend to take a lot of wider reading to really tackle issues in depth in assignments. If you are struggling with this I'd suggest booking a tutorial with the lecturer.

Thank you henrysmama that is helpful.

Unfortunatley there are no tutors to ask for help Sad the course I am taking is appallingly badly run (had I known what it was like I would not have started) and all that is provided is some webbased information on the assignments and a few links.

The assignments are called "knowledge assignments" and yet the focus very much appears to be on critical analysis rather than knowledge. It is so hard with so little to go on as to what is expected.

I need to rewrite my assigment for resubmission but I don't find the feedback I have very constructive which makes it hard for me to know where to start.

If the feedback was more constructive it would be easier to see where I went wrong but all I got was a couple of (badly spelled) comments
