Is the dummy a good or bad idea?
DS 4 months has a dummy good sometimes but nightmare when in bed always dropping it then moaning for it again, getting up to put it back before he cries about 6/7 times a night.
What to do??????

Personal choice. Mine never had one but I know some people find them useful....

I think some people find them useful (nether of mine took one) but if they start casuing problems I imagine it's time to get rid of it.

steph01 · 02/03/2012 19:51

how would i go about getting rid of it without him crying for it?

I imgine you mite have a couple of hard nights getting up and comforting in another way. Patting and shushing for example.

Mite be worth the effort though I had a friend who had your problem and it went on for months before she got ride of the dummy.

I gave my DD one at about 6 weeks when she was comfort feeding. But she now much prefers her thumb. I give her her dummy to try stop her. But tonite in bed she kept pulling it in and out (now 24 weeks old) and sort of fighting with it. Took the dummy out thumb went in then bang asleep!! Gonna try her without tomorrow. X xx
