Welsh language children's books / authors to look out for

I (well, dd) could really do with some good suggestions on welsh language books to look for, her teacher at school has asked her to try to read some more stretching things in Welsh rather than English.

Our local library is very tiny so not much to choose from, in English I can search on the county system & order stuff for her, but don't know what to look for in Welsh.

She likes the books about Siani the Shetland, but they're very short & easy reads. There isn't much of a choice at school apparantly (why? surely if they want them to read more challenging things they should have some? dd possibly being crap/fussy, but she swears she's bringing home what there is in terms of longer/more complex books)

Translations would be ok, dd suggested looking for Harry Potter in translation, but ideally it would be nice to find some books originally in Welsh or at least not so amazingly well known that she's read them 100x already (ie, not Roald Dahl etc). She's looked at the book catalogues that they send home from school, not very inspiring but then the english ones they send aren't really either!

She's 9 going on 10 by the way, generally likes fantasy books especially featuring dragons, but not too fussy. She had Carys Blodwen (Clarice Bean translation) from the library & level was probably about right but she couldn't hack the mad typography reading in Welsh. (cHarlIE aNd lOLa all oVeR aGaiN)

All suggestions welcome :)
