With DC2, yes. And I knew what sex, her name and what day she would be whipped out (planned cs). Still very exciting! Probably because I had a vague idea what I was doing second time round and worried less Blush.

meglet were your family as excited as they were with dc1

I don't think family was excited - as DC1 was first grandchild on my side - and first for quite a while on the other - but do family love and care for DC2 as much as as DC2

I was more excited for dc2 than dc1 because I had a vague idea of what it would be like. Family are tossers and have lost interest in me and both children but Thats more to do with them being idiots than my lovely dcs

Meglet · 18/02/2012 22:49

yes, they were. I think they were glad we all knew the drill second time around (my DC1 was the first baby in the family for years). They still visited and bought presents.

CharliesMummyMeg · 18/02/2012 22:50

i hope my family will be as excited as they were first time around - i plan to have quite a big gap between dc 1 and 2 due to the fact that i want to spend lots of time with ds1 first and im only 19 so not rushing - dp says we can only have 3

1st - yes because it was my first!

2nd - yes because it was my first with new DH!

3rd - yes because it was a girl!

But I can honestly say that the word "excited" would be furthest from my lips if I were to find myself expecting another Grin

Haha :) my worry is my family and everyone will not be as excited when we have our dc2 x

My mom and dad weren't that excited about our 3rd baby. But they absolutely ADORED her once she was here. They were more relaxed with her than my first 2 children. They can't stop talking to her, hugging her when they see her.

I was excited about all of them.

CharliesMummyMeg · 20/02/2012 19:40

Maandpa what is the gap age between yours?

ds 1 is 8, dd1 is 5 and dd2 is 2.5yrs old. Smile

I have 5 DC. I was just as excited with 2, 3, 4 & 5 as with the 1st. GPs were excited with 1, 2 & 5. Not so interested in 3 & 4 until they were actually born.

Wider family lost interest after DC1 :(

I have 3 DDs, 1st was the first grand-daughter on my side so huge excitement there for family. 2nd DD followed 16 months later and 3rd DD arrived 3 1/2 years after her. Me and DP were as excited about all of them as we were the first. Other family excited but not as excited after 1st, think this is partly because a first baby is such a life changing event for a couple, but once you are a family, you just get bigger with each child IYSWIM?
All 3 of my girls are adored by our families and are part of the new generation as they have 7 cousins with the 8th on its way, thats a lot of grandkids for the GPs!!! Grin
