Snotty nose 4mths

My DD has a snotty nose, ( more of a bogey than streaming snot!). She does not seem ill but the snot 'rattles' when she breaths. I can wipe off what is accessible but I can't make her blow her nose!!!! Any tips??

Have you tried a snot sucker? you can get them in Boots.

Saline spray and a snot sucker. Having said that, the snot sucker i got from Boots was too wide for my DS's nose!

I am sat at my keyboard in stunned amazment with my jaw on the floor! There is such a thing as a snot sucker!?!? Really? you are not having me on??

Well, it's a good description though not, i'm sure, the correct medical one! It's like a pipette with a little rubber squeezer on the end. Just make sure you squeeze the end before sticking it up her nose so the snot is carried out when it inflates again. Sorry if that sounds obvious but my DH pressed it when it was up DS's nose!

It's called a nasal aspirator. My mil insisted on getting one for DC1. I don't expect to use it, as I don't think I could cope with the grossness of emptying the bulb.

Well that has kept me amused all day!!! Have put some baby vapour rub on and will swing by Boots! Thanks Viking Lady for the correct terrm, " Hi, have you got a snot sucker please?" could have been my finest moment at Boots!!
