hello everyone,

My lovely ds is going to be 9 next week and we are a little strapped for cash at the moment, we were going to take him and a few few friends bowling but ds said it costs alot and would rather doing something at home ( brought tears to my eyes)
In the past we have always done really good parties for all our kids but we have just had twins and things are tight.

So we have said he can have friends over doing like a party, food etc.

Any ideas how to make this extra special, without breaking the bank?? He really deserves it and I don't want him going without.

Tenpin has half price offers mid-week, but don't know if it would count in school holidays.

What about 'park olympics', with an indoor picnic at home afterwards?

Could you take him and three or four friends to the cinema for a kid's club morning viewing (£1.25 and Vue, £1 at Cineworld I tihnk) and then home for a make your own pizza party?

We had a spy party. Guests were given disguises (glasses, noses, moustaches) and a set of clues to follow, printed in 4 point so they had to use magnifying glasses, which led them to a pinata. Poor thing didn't have a hope against a bunch of ravening DCs.

Sunday mornings are often £1 per person per game at our megabowling type place.

Second the cinema idea.

Your DS sounds lovely and thoughtful. Explain doing it at home would take more time.
