13mo begging for food

DD is a good eater & will eat just about anything. I have always let her taste anything that I'm eating that's suitable, but the problem is that now when anyone is eating she will go up to them asking for food. To make things worse she is also going through a tantrum stage when she doesn't get her own way, so she will throw a big tantrum I'd she doesn't get the food.

I'm thinking its time put a stop to this, but as gently as possible. Any tips?

When DD showed interest in food that was someone else's (friend or family member) I don't know of anyone who didn't let her share it. It was usually nosiness than hunger but she either soon lost interest after a taste, or wanted more in which case I assumed she needed a snack so went and got her one Smile

I don't think it needs correcting at this age.

She's 13 months - she's either hungry or curious - not really a big deal is it?

As for the tantrums, if you say 'no' and mean 'no' consistantly she will get the message.

If you are out in public just apologise and tell the person she's incredibly curious about food at the moment and remove her. If she has a tantrum put her in the buggy or hold onto her, she's only a wee dot, so not really an issue is it?

Thanks all. She eats loads and I give her plenty of snacks so I don't think its hunger, she just loves food.

It's not an issue for me really its just that a few people have mentioned to me that I should stop sharing my food with her because she expects everyone else to too!
