Please someone give me some support. Since as long as I can remember, I have been terrified of people being sick. To be specific, I have no problem if the sick is alcohol/food poisoning etc related. I have come to realise that I am totally terrified of sickness bugs. It's affecting my enjoyment of parenting as every night I

Wonder if my DCs will be sick. I'm posting tonight as DS has been sick which DH dealt with but made me feel shite because I freaked out. My worry about Rota/Norovirus is ruining my experience of being a mum which otherwise I love :(((

We've only had a very few experiences of sickness, to be honest most of the viruses the kids have had have caused maybe one or two vomits and then mostly diarrhoea. We've had norovirus once, and then maybe three individual episodes of one vomit. I don't deal particularly well with it, I have to shove baby wipes up my nose and sing songs really loud to distract myself while I clean it up, using lots of gloves and bags and napkins and throwing away the clothes. You just sort of learn to push it down and hide it for them. If you can't perhaps some help dealing with your phobia would be of use.

I'm the same. DS had norovirus last week and I'm a lone parent so had to help him. He was more upset than I was, poor sod.

Everyone around me caught it (someone who was staying in my house!) but I was fine and I think if you are not the type to get sick bugs then you just won't get them. People with sick phobias tend not to, I find!

I have had cbt which has obviously helped loads - ask your gp for a referral. My gp also gave me Valium and anti emetics for the occasions when I still do get panic attacks about it.

Please try not to worry so much.
