I've got a 2.7 and a 7m, both of whom have colds and for the last few days their temperatures have been up and down. They are both about 37.5 at the mo and I want to take them to the shopping mall just to get out of the house for a couple of hours, let the toddler run around, do errands and have a cup of tea, that sort of thing.

Please tell me not to take the thermometer with me!

HahaGrin give them paracetamol for temperature and go and get out of the house wrap them up warm and go via the park for ten mins then get on with it you can't put things on hold forever lol obviously they need rest but also a little fun and change of scenery will help you all x x x

I always take DS out and about when he has a cold otherwise I'd go mad playing owl football all day because I think it's good for him to have a change of scenery.

PS I never take a thermometer with me, just plenty of tissues!

Ah, you see I can't remember if I gave DD Calpol at 10.30 or 11.30.Blush

DS hates taking it, so it really does have to be needed!SadSad

Sod it! We're going. I'm (Shock) going to trust my judgement and my hands. There's a Boots up there if they get hot.

I only get panicky coz DD had a few febrile convulsions when she was a baby.

I was told by a paed in A&E to consider the doeses given over 24 hours. So as long as you don't give more than 4 doses per 24 hours it doesn't matter too much if two doses are given a bit closer together (if that makes sense!).

Febrile convulsions sound scary!

Chirpychick2010 · 10/02/2012 14:10

You will be fine and I understand your nervous having had convulsions before but it's less likely now older. Keep an eye there not overheating if running around and in pushchair but I'm positive your more then competent x

Thank-you all.Grin

I used to trust my judgement... then DP with his jitters and worries turned up and now, where the DCs are concerned anyway, I need external confirmation that I'm 'doing the right thing'.Blush

Shoot me, shoot me now...
