Torn between having another baby or waiting a few years......

I have a 7 month old little boy and my partner wants to start trying for another around April/May time but I'm having a bit of a hard time deciding whether I want to right now or I want to wait a few years.

When I was at home with our son on Mat Leave I definitely wanted to wait but now I've gone back to work (very recently) I can't stop thinking about how if we did end up PG again I could take advantage of the fabulous Maternity Package that my employers offer. But then I wonder if this is just because I miss my baby soooo very much!!

My partner is from a family of 3 children who are all VERY close in age. I am from a family of 4 and there's an age gap of approx 2yrs between each of us.

(I do want more children BTW)

Anyone got any words of wisdom cos its starting to make me feel a bit sad...!

Hi
I'm in a similar position but slightly further along. My DS is now 15 months and I'm also thinking of trying in May/June - so DS will be 2.5.
Personally I think a smaller age gap will be harder to manage, and i've found that balancing working full time with DS getting alot of bugs from nursery to be a struggle. He is now almost walking and if we have number 2 when he is 2.5 he should also be much more aware of what is going on.

But no doubt you will have people telling you that closer is easier later on. I'm guessing that there is no easier time space between 1 & 2!

Ah bless you. We have a 6 month old, and are going to start trying end of this year/new year time for number 2. We would like our 2 children quite close in age (around 2-2.5 years) but we want to enjoy our first born too. We would also like him to not be so 'baby' and possibly out of nappies.
It also depends on how quick you get preggars, I came off the pill end of Aug 2010, was preg november, so quite quick last time.

Just remember you've BOTH got to want another baby at the same time :)
