Cots: the answer varies from 12 months to 3-4 years.

Highchairs: We have the Stokke highchair, and expect to use it until DS1 is a teenager.

Stairgates: I stop using them once kids can get up and down stairs reasonably safely. DH loves them, still uses them on DS1, who is 4.

Cots - usually until 2 years of age, but we put Jess in a toddler bed at 17 months

Highchairs - never had one, but i would say 18 months tops

Stairgates - 2-3yrs.... Jess is 18 months and i cant see me getting rid in the near future!

Cots - btw 18 months to 3 years approx
Highchairs - from approx 6 months to 2 years (although many stop before that)
Stairgates - we didn't bother

In beds at 2
Highchair ?, depends on chair
Stairgates until 2 to 3?

Blondeinlondon · 23/01/2006 18:58

so after highchairs do you just use a normal chair or one of those mini chairs?

some high chairs convert into small chairs. Ds just sits on a diniing room chair now and he's 21 months

here is an example

Well we still have the cot and dd is 2.3.

Highchair went when she was 18 months (would have gone sooner if I had my way, hated the thing)

Stairgates, still up and will be for a while me thinks.
