I am trying to get my DS who is 2years and 7 months a haircut but he will not let a hairdresser anywhere near his head with scissors. Tried bribery with sweets and distracting with toys and DVD, and sitting in a race car seat. tried three different hairdressers.
Anyone got any tips? Is there a picture book about getting a haircut i could get him?

Sounds like you may need to let him forget about the bad experiences first, and try again in a couple of months. When he's sleeping try and cut the important bits yourself.

My dd went to a fantastic hairdressers the first time, the lady sat her in a high chair and chatted to me and dd constantly. She kept the scissors behind dd so dd wasn't even aware anything had happened. Before she knew it it was time to leave!

Perhaps once your son has forgotton about it, you could ring to book an appt, ask them to make no fuss and try and keep scissors out of sight, then just wander in with him (without telling in advance). Ask him if he wants to try out the chair and keep him extremely distracted!

Buy some electric clippers? It's very easy and it doesn't take long. If you put them on a high setting, it's not to "shorn". Mine watch a video and I get them to catch the hair in a pudding bowl, which they love! Just need to hoover up afterwards.
