I have just started my first OU couse!

I never went to uni when younger, although would have liked to. I have now been working in my industry for over 10 years and have finally started the path towards that degree! So... today is the official start date eeek....

So far its ok, and I expect this first module to be relatively easy given its my career, but to think I am going to have no free time for the next 6 years or so??? daunting prospect!

Good luck,OU courses are hard work,drive you crazy with deadlines/kids ect but are ultimately extremely satisfying when your marks come back and you grin to yourself about your achievement :o

Good luck with it. I graduated 18 months ago (Literature) and really enjoyed doing it. I'm actually thinking about doing another course in May (social science) as I think I've forgotten about all the work involved . Check out the student parents thread if you haven't already, as there are lots of OU students there.

IBlame social science courses are great I have done a couple and thoroughly enjoyed them.

Hope you enjoy it. I'm doing computing/IT modules with the OU too and enjoying it. Am working towards an Open Degree though as it gave me more choice over the IT modules and made my credit transfer a lot simpler.

Good luck with your course. This is the first year I've studied with the OU and I've been so impressed with the quality of the course materials, the organisation and the support I've had from my tutor. It's hard work fitting it all in but the sense of satisfaction is enormous. Really hope you enjoy it too

I did my foundation degree with them,my graduation at the Barbican was such a happy day.I have since done my degree,PGCE and am halfway through my masters at another University but the OU gave me the study skills and confidence to acheive what I have so far.

Good luck! I'm on second year of doing BSC Computing and Mathematical Sciences. Hoping to finish in another two years, but it's hard working fitting it all in without compromising family time.
It's so worth it though, and because I had DS straight from college (I turned 19 week before giving birth, though he was planned) I only had one year out before studying again. Even so, brain turns to mush in pregnancy!
