Hi,
DS1 cries every time we give him a head wash with johnsons no more tears shampoo, his eye goes red and its becoming difficult to get him in the bath as he dreads head wash, other than that he enjoys being in the bath, any suggestions as to what else can I use?
Thanks in advance..

I use Disney body and shampoo wash in Sainsburys and that seems quite gentle. No red eyes here. I have also heard you can buy a plastic guard which you hold against their forehead whilst you rinse their hair to stop it going in their eyes Smile

Burts bees.

Expensive but you only need the tiniest bit ever.

No chemicals either unlike Johnsons.

(my hairdresser told me the best way to strip red hair dye out of my hair is Johnsons no more tears shampoo, that's how strong it is)

Can you use one of those rinsey buckets, or visors so it doesn't get into his eyes? No matter how gentle a shampoo is, they're not really meant to go in eyes.

How old is he? Does he need it washing with shampoo each time? Maybe just water sometimes so he doesn't associate bath with always having hair washed.

Thanks everyone. I will try the brands you mentioned.
DS is 2.8. We tried the shower cap but he wasn't very keen on it.
I will try again, but definitely will switch shampoos and see how it goes.

Can't believe johnsons will sell such strong shampoo for kids, hate them.. 2 years back my MW told me not to use Johnson oil for baby massage as its not good for baby massage. Angry
Thanks everyone once again.

We use this to rinse shampoo without it going in the eyes.

I would also think about just washing his hair occasionally.

I remember a few months ago reading on here a tip about using goggles for a similar situation. Worth a try if nothing else works.

Googles, good idea, will try next time.
