Looking for formula advice for six month old

Hi, my little girl is six months old exactly. Until now, I have almost exclusively breastfed, along with introducing solids about a month ago.

I am starting to gradually wean her off breastfeeding by giving her a bottle or two of formula a day. She has always taken Aptimil happily but, as I have recently increased the amounts, it is giving her diarrhea. I have heard this is a relatively common problem with Aptimil so I'm planning to switch brand.

For people who have experienced something similar, I'd be grateful for any tips of what would be a good brand to switch to?

Thanks,

When I switched to formula, my dd went a bit the other way, not badly though. She is on Cow and Gate. I chose this since they are the only ones I'm aware of who produce medicated formula for premies, so I have a lot of trust in the quality of their milk. hth

I used nutriprem by cow and gate (the formula for premies Jokat is talking about) and have just switched them to Cow and Gate regular formula now they are 6 months with no probs. When they were in SCBU they were on Aptimil at first and also had terrible diarrhoea.

My DS is 3 months and exclusively ff, I've used all the different formula brands and not really had any problems. Cow & Gate is the cheapest, although I've just started using Hipp because it's organic and it seems to be a bit thicker than the other ones - the powder has a denser (?) consistency and the milk is a bit thicker. Might be worth a go?

SMA was fine for DS but too rich for DD - she is better on Cow and Gate. Its really try different ones and see

Thanks. We tried SMA last night. Not sure of any difference so far, but she didn't sleep great (not that she ever does!).
