Dd (nearly 4) has woken up with her eyes stuck together. Got eye drops. How the hell do you put them in without all the screaming and trying to scratch her own eyes out because I DON'T WANT ANY EYEDROPS?????

my 13mth old dd is the same, have an app at drs in an hour! in my experince when they are little i always wrapped them up, ie swaddled them so their hands were out the way, get them to lie on the sofa with head tipped back a bit and drip it into the corner of the eye. with my boys this was often a two person job and a nightmare! you have my sympathies as i shall be joining you in the task later today!

Defnitely a 2 person task and plenty of smarties (or whatever their prefered item of chococolate confectionary is).

did you have a choice between drops or ointment? only we were just seen at the drs and they said drops every two hours! Shock or ointment 4 times a day! i went for the ointment, much easier you just squirt it into the bottom of the eyelid and then they close their eyes and that spreads it around! we were given two tubes, one for each eye and it should be gone within 4 days, i have to go back if its not gone by after the wkend. anyway my plan is swaddling and then a chocolate button to ease the trauma Grin
