Anger management advice for 7 y.o DS

My DS is 7, and he's still prone to monumental temper tantrums like a baby.

I've got a pretty good insight into conditions / circumstances that will set him off, and DH and I have been discussing some changes in routine etc to try to deal with it.

Anyone got any useful advice and / or can recommend a book about dealing with anger that I could read with him?

Hi, think this is too important to just read and leave. You could try the special needs board - not because he has any but because a lot of children with SN also have anger management 'issues', I know mine does. We use emotion cards to try to expand his emotional vocabulary. These are pictoral so each one will have a face displaying an emotion, e.g. Happy, Sad, Angry, Worried, and Scared with the word written beneath - sounds simplistic but bear with me! Sometimes these emotions can become confused, he may show anger but may really be worried or scared. Does this make any sense?

My ds gets very angry but it is more often than not that he is anxious about something, usually loss of control.

SN board will help more than me though!
