liners for newborn

I'm hoping to use reusable nappies for DC3 when he or she is born in a few weeks. I've got a selection of mothercare smart nappies, tots bots and motherease to try with the little one but am a bit confused about liners. The paper liners that came with the mothercare nappies look a bit scratchy and as though they'd really not be comfortable for the baby. Also, would breastfed baby poo not just run off them? What are the best liners to buy for newborns?

Don't bother. Liners are only good at weaning stage - until then poo is too runny and soaks through or overflows!

We never used liners either, I thought they looked uncomfortable. I never missed them.

Liners come into their own when the poo goes solid. We like the Tots Bots spunlace ones the best.

we use lollipop liners.
we get them from nappyshedsal.
pm her, i'm sure she'd be okay with you asking her.

they're softer than the MC ones - i was shocked at how rough they looked! (we got a few in the trial pack of MC nappy system)

it doesn't run off, and 9/10 it overflows, but it does keep the bulk of the mess off the nappy Grin

also, not as big a fan of the MC nappies as others.

When their poo is still liquid just bung pooey nappy in the wash. Or am I a filthy slattern?

nickelDorritt · 10/02/2012 14:30

i have discovered it doesn't all wash off the mc ones.

and it stains if it's left too long.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 10/02/2012 14:33

If it stains hang them in natural light and leave outside for a few days always bleaches poo stains out.

yes, will do when it gets bad enough to worry about it Grin

we have found the liners to be a good idea though - it really makes the nappies less messy (and who wants to handle nappies full of lovely yellow bf poo? Shock )
