Nine week old habitually waking

my nine week old wakes twice at night at exactly the same times, occasionally he will have a good feed but normally it is a couple of gulps and zzzzzzzz. Do I assume that he will suddenly snap out of it and magically sleep. Have tried comfrtm cuddles, dummy, patting and ignoring. Am happy to continue to feed if it makes sense. Feeding regularly in the day and he happily sleep from 6.30-10.30

At 9 weeks your lo needs to wake and feed during the night, this is totally normal and necessary. Don't get swept up thinking too much about them sleeping through yet, very few babies do that young, he/she'll get there in time. If he's feeding and falling back to sleep easily that is a good thing.

Babies have shorter sleep cycles than adults and therefore do wake up several times during the night. It may be that he needs to suckle for comfort to get back to sleep and therefore only has a few gulps My baby is 9 weeks too and wakes twice for a good feed but goes back to sleep immediately. Also it is said that young babies and toddler don't have the ability to sooth themselves back to sleep as that part of the brain isn't developed yet. Some (lucky) parents think their children sleep through but it is just that they wake and go back to sleep themselves. I would just go with what the baby needs. He will find his way eventually.

Thank you, feel happier now I know that it is normal. If I can give him comfort then great.
