What should I buy for 7 and 5 year old girls?

I don't actually know them, so have no idea what their interests are. I knew their Mum about 15 years ago and she has just sent me a massive box of cast off clothes and books (my DD is 2). It must have cost her a fortune to send, but she says she doesn't want any money towards it, so I'd like to buy them something to say thanks. But what?!

Colouring and craft stuff. I gave DNiece a tin of posh pencils which had glittery, smelly and neon pencils.as well as normal ones. She is seven and adored it.

Yes craft things - little kits that you make something out of are fun and about the right attention span for that age.

Also, what a kind thing first your old friend to do .

Secret diary type books, with a little lock on them. Monster High is popular with my 6 and 7 year old girls.

What a lovely friend. Agree craft stuff, beads, pretty stationery.

Moshi monsters seem to be popular with DDs friends, or if you want something really easy to post Club Penguin card

Thanks, crafty things it is. It was very kind of her, and totally out of the blue! It was like a second Christmas for DD!
