NIGHT TIME NAPPIES! TOTSBOTS?

Hi!

Am currently using TotsBots Bamboozle with Motherease wraps during the day on my 3 month old son. I think that both products are absolutely fab!

However, have got in to the habit of using Moltex or Nature at night. Would much prefer to use washable nappy at night for environmental reasons but scared to sacrifice a fairly good (!!)nights sleep in case the nappy leaks/son is uncomfortable being too wet.

Does anyone use this combo at night?

Any more absorbent nappies for night-time?

Any tricks for increasing absorbency?!

when I use cloth at night I use an unbleached tots with a microfibre booster, they haven't leaked on dd, but all babies will be idfferent wetters

Like you I use bamboozle and ME wrap in the day. DS is 7 months, he downs about 14oz of milk between 5pm and 7pm - what goes in must come out. Overnight I use a bamboozle with a couple of boosters and a fleece tots wrap - PJs are still dry in the morning.

Have you boosted your totsbots at all? totsbots own boosters are good. Or a hemp booster? Or two?

Fleece wraps allow more evaporation and I've found dd's nappies a lot less sodden in the morning, but the moisture does wick onto the bedding. Os comfy for dd, more washing for me- grr.

Neither ds or dd have been bothered by wet nappies at night - only poo and that's very rare in the night if at all.

I find a boosted Totsbots (unbleached) way more absorbant than Moltex. Even if we're away for a weekend I'll take Moltex for daytime and cloth for night cos I just don't trust the holding power of a disposable

Thanks. Have got a couple of unbleached tots bots so will give them a try.

I haven't boosted nappies at all - although I have got ME boosters somewhere - will give them a go.

Any particular fleece wraps to go for?

Thanks!

I use the Totsbots fleece wraps (I've got ds' old red ones (which are a bit bobbly now) and new polka-dot and rainbow stripe ones I bought since dd. Very cute and I think they'll be worn in the summer a lot when it's warm enough for just a T -shirt - ideal beachwear

Nappies by Minki also do fleece wraps and nappies you can stuff with all sorts of things if you want to mega boost it. \link[http://www.kittykins.co.uk\Kittykins} stock Minki nappies as does Wahmall -

I usually use Bumbles at night (they're like tots but fleece lined) but every 4 night I use a bambooz;e - they're good cos being slim, you can add a couple of boosters or microfibre cloths between nappy and wrap and they don't get too bulky. We've been using fleece (tots and nappysaurus) up til now with great success but have just switched to wool, which is brilliant - I only have to wash the wool wrap once a week and lanolise once a month and they work even better than fleece does.

We did what you're doing for a while as DH couldn't cope with losing sleep, then he stayed at my mum's and she just put him in cloth at night as a matter of course and DS was fine, as McM wrote, I can't believe a disposable will cope all night with what DS produces and take my bumbles everywhere.

naturemum - just want to say, thanks for starting this thread - I was going to start an almost identical one!

BonyM · 19/01/2006 21:00

Does anyone know which is more absorbent - bamboozles or tots unbleached?

LeahE · 19/01/2006 21:11

I find bamboozles and tots unbleached about the same, personally.

As a night nappy I'd suggest a Minki Huggle. Too bulky for daytime use IMO but great at night (we actually use heavily boosted Slinki Minkis most of the time because DS is not a heavy wetter, but I have one Huggle and it's fab. You could use with your exiting wraps or why not try fleece/wool? A Stacinator might be good.

We used to use boosted unbleached Tots as a night nappy but I was never very happy with them overnight, although they were better with a fleece wrap than with a PUL one.

Dozeynoo · 19/01/2006 22:41

I can recommend the bumble for night time use. I switched to these at night when my son was leaking out of everything, including including leading brand disposables!

Thanks for advise from you all!

Have put ds in bamboozle with ME booster tonight to get back in the swing of it.

Going to order some Huggles (nappies by minki) from kittykins tomorrow. And also some fleece wraps & boosters!

Its great to be expanding my nappy selection!
