DS and lack of sleep

Morning ladies, I need some advice!! My DS is my 3rd child and since December has started waking through the night, roughly twice every night and wanting to get into our bed.
He has been the trickier one out of the 3 with regards to sleep(roughly 2hrs a night for the 1st year) and eating(ie he does not seem to want to eat anything I give him for dinners).
When he comes in around 5am, I admit that due to pure exhaustion I have been letting him get in to our bed. Any earlier and I do put him back to his bed, but is like a stand off every night!!
He will be 3 in Feb and no longer has naps in the day(they stopped around 2).

All advice welcome ;-)

I think you have to persevere with putting him back to bed. Could be that by not eating much he's waking up with a growly tummy. A late snack of warm milk and toast/biscuits might help if that's the case. A 5am start isn't too bad if you've had a full night's sleep but it's not so good if you've been up all night. I would also suggest you try to reintroduce a daytime nap. Even if it's just some quiet 'down-time' under a blanket rather than deep sleep it might help him settle later in the day

thank you CogitoErgoSometimes for advice, I had started to wonder about the daytime sleep as he seems so tired by 5pm x
