How would you feel about this?

Recently I was with my DS in the park, he was playing a bit away when a woman came into the park. She went over to my DS and said to him "is your name Nathan?" My DS replied that it was to which she replied "I know who you are". I immediately became a bit apprehensive and called my DS over to me. The woman came over and then introduced herself to me, turned out she was some relative of some woman who used to work with my mum. What unnerved me was that she had approached my DS and started up a conversation with him instead of introducing herself to me first (she knew my name as well so it wasn't as if she only knew who my DS was).

Would this have unnerved you at all? The woman was perfectly harmless and I have seen her since, but the initial meeting was one which did stir up horrible thoughts of strangers approaching my DS (and I'm generally not paranoid at all).

I'd have felt rather uncomfortable about it, yes.

It would have freaked me out - she should have known better to look around for you and say hi to you first!

It would have unnerved me, too. It would have been far better for her to have approached you first rather than him - I'm sure she did it without thinking, but really she should have known better.
