Spacecadet is currently having to deal with more than anyone should ever have to deal with in a lifetime.

She has experienced over the last few months a stillbirth, serious illness, looking after with no help a house full of children and a consequence a husband who has walked out.

Please can we do something positive and practical to help spacey out over the next few months.

Lovely mumsnet have said that they will give out the details of their po box address so that any of us that feel so generously inclined could rustle up a few quid to go into a nanny fund or an au pair fund or so that we can find a company that make lovely homemade food and deliver it to her every week.

Please support me on this - If everyone gave just £1 we'd be able to offer some amazing help to SC.

I'm sorry Spacey if you are angry with me for starting this thread - I know you are proud and you have coped admirably with everything - but please just accept that we want to help.

I will post details of who to make cheque payable to and where to send it, just as soon as I have the details. In the meantime, please look behind your cushions on your sofa and in the bottom of your handbag amongst the fluff to dig out those coins.

Thank you so much
DHW

I have paypaled you some money this morning SC, but not cleared yet according to my paypal summary, not sure if that is normal, not used paypal before

Elibean · 13/02/2006 16:13

How are you now, SC? Has the exhaustion eased at all? My friend (who will always be grateful to you, 'cos I told her about your support) is still knackered - but feeling much better. I imagine its hard not to overdo things once you feel a bit better, especially if you have a ton of stuff to do - which I'm sure you have.
Sending hugs, C xx

elibean-i still feel quite tired but bravelt drove 230 miles yesterday to visit my mum, i know what you are all thinking, but shes still my mum, she has funny ideas about things, shes old-fashioned and thinks women should keep themselves nice for their men!pmsl!, thats why she thinks dh left! she doesnt realise that it runs deeper than that, im not actually staying with her at the mo, im sleeping in the travel inn which she has paid for! as dh is at mums, want to avoid him, he has been rushed to hospital anyway with a swollen face. i thought it would do me and the kids some good to get some sea air.
tell your friend not to rush her recovery, its a very gradual thing, she will feel exhausted for a while yet.
alibubbles-typical, ive gone to wales!!!!

spacecadet · 14/02/2006 11:01

mummytosteven · 14/02/2006 11:03

i don't see why anyone would see it as at all weird you're trekking up to your mum's - we can't choose our family after all. the nasty side of me hopes that now your DH is unwell he may have more of an insight into how frightening and tiring it was for you when you were ill.

spacecadet · 14/02/2006 11:38

littlerach · 17/02/2006 20:59

Oh, sc, it just isn't your time at the moment.

No idea re tax credits, maybe call them about it and see if it can be sorted.

Good luck.

mummytosteven · 17/02/2006 21:00

Hi everyone, just updating this as Spacecadet's internet connection is playing up. She's back home this evening (a day late) as her car broke down, so she had to take her DH's car to get back home again. The Tax Credits people are still giving her the run around (and still no money). When Spacecadet got back this evening she had received a letter in the post from Tax Credits people to her telling her that they were refusing her claim as she hadn't supplied enough information, despite her having spoken to the Tax Credits people last week to chase them up. Given that the letter they sent to her quoted an innaccurate NI number that wasn't hers, she wonders if there has been an almighty cockup somewhere, and if they have been looking at someone elses information. So she'll try and get through to their helpline tomorrow to try and sort things out, but is understandably very stressed that it is taking so long for them to get any money to her.

spacecadet · 17/02/2006 21:01

thanks mts, ive just managed to get on here by re booting the comp so the internet connection worked, but you put that better than me.
