I took DD (7.5 months) to the doctor yesterday for a check and a vaccination. We live overseas (Eastern Europe) but private clinic, US trained doctor etc. A few days earlier I noticed a small red spot on her arm, which wasn't there before. It is like a blood blister, but tiny and not a blister - if you see what I mean. I sometimes get them myself. Anyway, the doctor seemed worried about it and had me take pictures of it and took blood tests and talked about specialists. I asked why, but she said 'lets not worry til we know something'. The thing is, I don't even know what to google - what could it be? It is just one spot, not others.

It could be a small burst blood-vessel just under the skin. Doesn't sound like chickenpox. And presumably she's been vaccinated against measles? The thing about private clinics where patients pay for treatment is that the docs like to run all kinds of precautionary tests for things that an NHS GP would probably brush off as too trivial to warrant the expense. If your baby is well, lively, eating well, sleeping well and showing no signs of poor health then it's unlikely to be anything to worry about.
