Hi,

Please can anyone with a 10 month old let me know your routines (if you feel they are working well). I'm trying to get mine to have a longer nap in the afternoon, but she never seems to sleep long enough before she needs her milk. She has also dropped her late afternoon nap, so it feels like a strong stretch until bedtime.

This is her current routine, although times are approx depending in what time she woke up that day. If anyone can suggest any improvements I would be v grateful!

5:30- milk
6:30-7:30 wake up
8:00 breakfast
11:15 Lunch
1:00 milk
1:30 nap
3:30 milk
5:00 dinner
6:30 milk
6:45 bed

Thanks in advance

Hi

My dd is 9 months old and her routine is as follows

7am (if we are lucky!) Milk and wake up (5oz)
9am Porridge or other breakfast
10am Milk and Nap for 1.5hrs (4oz)
12.30 Lunch
2.30pm Milk and Nap for 1.5hrs (4oz)
4pm Small dinner
6.15pm Milk and bed. (6oz)

It does seem that she is always either eating or drinking milk. I use her bottles to settle her for her nap, often feeding her in her dark bedroom with cd with nursery rhymes.

I find keeping her up from when she wakes up first thing in the morning (even if its 5am) makes her have better naps.

I did read recently that if you put them back to bed too soon after their first wake up and feed then they are more likely to continue to wake early. Whereas if you keep them up they should then learn to take their full nights quota in one lot and continue to sleep until a decent wake up time. Hope that makes sense Confused

Thanks Natzer. That's very interesting what you said about putting them down for a nap soon after they wake up. She usually has a nap at 9:00 am (I left this out in error in my previous post) and I have been really struggling to get her back to sleep once she wakes at 5:30am
