Food intake for toddler

My DS is nearly 18 months old. He is a perfect eater...very easy to wean. He dropped milk feeds quickly & is currently only having a night time feed before bed. He has 3 nutrious meals a day & little snacks in between. I have noticed the last weeks or so that his appetite has increased & seems to always be 'picking'. He is still eating his meals...but seems to be always grazing!! He has had a tummybug for about 10 days now so bot sure if its lined.
Am I doing something wrong?

It is quite common for toddlers to be grazers and all3 of mine have been. They are growing and developing fast so need plenty of food but still small stomachs and short attention span so grazing is a great way for them to get what they need. When the older 2 were about that age they were less likely to eat a whole meal so in the morning I'd make up a grazing plate for them of healthy snacks that they could pick at to their hearts content and sat them down to a meal at our meal times. Over time as they grew what they ate from the grazing plate decreased and what they ate at set meal times increased.
I have just started the same with 18 month old ds2 who seems to always be eating just now.

Thank you Ineed....I was starting to doubt myself. I like the idea of a grazing/snack plate. I think little & often may work better...DS has always had bad wind etc so I'll see if it might help that. Smile
