Potty trained for months now having accidents???

My dd 2.10 has been potty trained for months, she has been really good (considering what a drama queen she is!!) She does all her wees and poos is the toilet, just uses a step, her potty was only used for about 4 weeks and then it went in the garage.
In the last 3 days she has wet her pants 5 or 6 times in the house. on her bean bag, on the lounge carpet etc.
I am confident she is not unhappy about anything, and I am 99% certain this is being done for attention and no other reason! I have not made a big deal about it, as I have learned through experience this will make her do it all the more, but not sure what to do next.
I've thought about not changing her for a bit, letting her sit in it, but feel too guilty to do this, anyone had the same problem????

No, she's absolutely fine. I'm sure this is attention. Whenever she knows she's hacked my off or she is trying to wind me she will say 'are you happy mummy?'
This is exactly what she said just now, I am sure she is looking for a reaction after she has done it, which is why I'm not reacting but she is still doing it!

DD did exactly the same never got to the bottom of why and after a short while was back to normal again. Did take her to the doctors though to rule out any infection. Other than that my advice is to try and ride it out and (as you are already doing) munimal fuss.

She just done a wee in the toilet now and made sure I was fully aware of what she was doing, gave her lots of praise for it (hope that was the right thing to do!!)

Had a couple of more wees in her clothes again this afternoon, the ignoring this is not doing the job.
Thinking of possibly warning her that if this carries on she'll be back in nappies and the big girls pants will be put away - I know she'll hate that.
Do you think this is too harsh - I am very sure she is doing this to annoy me - she can be quite controlling.

Have just been through similar and have am having a better week this week, compared to last couple - my DD 'regressed' I think cos i am expecting, we've had work done on the house and the whole christmas unsettling thing.
I put her in nappies one pm and did regret it cos she wasn't bothered!
So this week we've done a sticker chart, i have said NOTHING about the wees (apart from just discussed it with her a bit, but stressed the accidential nature of it) and i have also asked her to put her wet clothes in the washing machine for me. Seems to be doing the trick
I'd say if you think she is doing it for attention, then don't give her any for it and give her attention for other things and hopefully it should all go away!? Dunno, am no expert, but HTH!!

Its definately for attention, every time she's done it she says are you happy mummy??? I know she knows this is really winding me up !! If that makes sense!!

My DS (2.10) has been having several 'accidents' lately too. He has been potty trained since he was 2.7. He is also really reluctant to go to the toilet even after I remind him. He will leak a bit into his pant but still refuse to pee in the toilet. Eventually, I resorted to bribery and I give him a little animal shaped biscut everytime he pees in the toilet and manages to keep his trousers dry. This has actually been more successful that I thought it would be, and now he sometimes says he has to wee, and although nothing will come out, he still asks for the biscut. It has cut down dramatically on the number of wet underpants and trousers though! Don't know if this will help!

Thanks - my dd has been clean for about 3/4 months now but think one of the reasons she was so good to start with was we introduced the toilet fairy - who would hide a treat for her( usually a smartie) everytime she weed and for every poo she had an opalfruit. We finally weaned her off this in December - so reluctant to introduce treats again - We've had a dry day today so far - just using her old stickers again which she also had before and lots of praise - Hoping that will be the end of it - but somehow I doubt it!!

This thread should be called My dd wants to be in control all the time because thats what this is all about I think - she can control this - and is showing me so - trying hardest to stay calm!! Although stayed dry today - but dh is on duty now while I have a bath so expect another !!
