Raising boys, what's happened to my 3yr old?!

I read this book a while ago (from the library so don't have a copy) and have followed baby growth spurts quite well but am getting a bit lost now ds1 is getting older. He's 3.8yrs and the last few weeks is suddenly acting very differently.

He's kicked out at me and hit me which has really shocked and surprised me - it's totally out of character but did happen when he was tired/upset and I was trying to explain too much. What makes me really sad was I was trying to talk to him to prevent him getting worked up and lashing out at his little brother.
He's only been at nursery from September, he has 2 younger siblings so a lot to deal with but his behaviour is making me wonder if there is some sort of growth/development spurt he's going through and how I can help him other than be understanding and keep an eye on food/sleep/activities?

I've got this book, and a 3.3 yo DS. I think there is a testosterone surge around 4 ish. I keep telling myself that mine is having his a bit early.

I have just started going through this with my 3 and a half year old. Out of the blue. Out of control! Seriously thought there was something really wrong with his behaviour and then I found this article. It really helped.

Hope it's of use to you.

Don't worry. Put 'Threenager' into search and you will see that you are not alone. The 'Three years' were the worst for both my DS.

thanks Tamashii that article is really good.

Just when I thought things were getting a bit easier with my younger 2! He's had quite a good day today but ended in tears because he fell flat on his face on his way to brush his teeth! I felt really guilty having to use the Santa and presents threat today too.
