Recommendations for lotions/potions to minimise scarring?

I know this is probably not the right topic but didn't know where else to post.

My 6yr old son had a nasty fall on Monday and cut his head very badly. We were taken to A&E and the doctor said although it was deep and quite long (about 3cm) it was a "neat" cut and he could glue it rather than resort to conventional stitching.

The nurse said to moisturise it once it heals to minimise scarring but just wondering if anyone has any particular recommendations? It is right down the centre of his forehead, from his hairline to just above where his eye brows would meet.

Any advice would be welcome.

Many thanks
Mandy

Try getting some vitamin e capsules and dabbing a bit of the contents on the cut when it heals. I did that with dd when she had chickenpox and she has no scars at all. Vitamin e is supposed to be very good for scarring.

Once it's healed, try Bio-Oil. I used it on my acne scars and it really worked.

I used bio oil on my c-section scar and a year later I can barely see it :)
