Ds1 before he was 3. Ds2 is just 4 and still has them at weekends, but he's on anti-epilepsy meds which make him need more sleep.

2.5. I nearly cried. Everyone else's toddlers of the same age are still going strong with 2 hour naps. I am enjoying the ridiculously early bedtime and long nights sleep however!

mrsravelstein · 19/12/2011 19:18

ds1 was still having maybe 20 mins nap in the car at 2.5

ds2 gave up at 23 months

dd gave up at about 20 months

Flisspaps · 19/12/2011 19:20

DD is 21mo and appears to have given up naps in the last week

There goes my hour of quiet time!

pommedenoel · 19/12/2011 19:26

Dd1 stopped napping at 19 months. Sometimes if we're in the car at lunchtime she may nod off for half an hour but that's it now. Sob.

paulapantsdown · 19/12/2011 19:29

My ds1 stopped when he was 24 months - a week after his brother was born.

It nearly killed me Smile

nulgirl · 19/12/2011 19:34

I stopped ds napping at about 2.7 as it was affecting his bedtime too much. He would happily have 2 hours in the afternoon but wake up really grumpy for at least an hour then go into overdrive and be awake until 9pm. There was a short adjustment period but he now sleeps much better at night and I have to wake him up at 7.15.

Think most kids are between 2 and 3. Feel very sorry for some of the posters below. 19 months must have been torturous.

Lovethesea · 19/12/2011 22:08

DD stopped at 2.5.

DS is 18 months and only naps some days now ......

CogitoErgoSometimes · 20/12/2011 07:54

I had to knock the afternoon nap on the head when DS went to full time school age 4. He got a good 10 hours every night but I was asked more than once 'does he get enough sleep?' by the reception class teacher because he would frequently doze off during afternoon story-time sessions!

lemniscate · 20/12/2011 07:58

DS stopped at 2.11. In the space of a week he went from a 2 hour nap to no nap. DH and I miss his naps so much! We had a blissful 5 months where we had a guaranteed 2 hours break from 2 children every day. We were soooo lucky.

DD is now 14mo. At this age, DS was napping at least 3 hours a day. DD has one 1.5 hour nap. She is so going to drop naps before she is 2

zimm · 20/12/2011 10:36

This thread is filling me with fear. DD is 16 months and will nap for 1-1.5 hours a day, less than that at nursery. She's going to be an early nap dropper isn't she.....

supadupaturkeystupour · 20/12/2011 10:43

DS is 2.4 and has between 2.5 and 3 hrs in the afternoon and 12hrs at night. He is extremely physical though and never still. DD is due in January and i will put money on DS stopping his naps just when i need him to sleep once she has arrived......

Iggly · 20/12/2011 11:13

DS naps for 1.5-2 hours a day - he's 2.2. DD is 2 weeks old so need naps.

He did resist naps at 18-19 months but stubborn mummy wouldn't let him so he's still going and sleeping through the night too.

whenPaschagotstuckupthechimney · 20/12/2011 11:15

Noooooo! Xmas Shock they can't drop naps so soon, please! The Boy is 15 months but already his nap has gone from 2+ hours to 1.5 hours most days.

See i am worrying now, as my ds is 4.2 and naps for 30-40 mins every day. More if he is ill. Dd2 is 3.1 and has 1.5-2 hours a day.
They both go 12 hours at night.
Ds has only recently in the last 6 months or so started sleeping solidly through. (health issues) and dd2 since halloween will have 1 or 2 nights a week where she will wake with a nightmare.

my dd1 was napping up until she started school and if she is ill or had a late night she will still have an hour or so now at the weekend. i do wonder if it is in the genes as such, as i go to bed at 9.30 and we get up normally around 7.

it is embarassing when invited on playdates etc and still have to arrange around naps. ds can cope without if needed but will have extra next day if needed. dd2 can not do without.

funny how all different.
