I had to run out of the room to get wet wipes to clear up a little smelly accident from 9 month DD, in that time DS found the list i had written to remind me what i had got him and read all that was on it. He asked if he was really getting a monster hoodie, i had to lie and say no, that the list was before i lost my job and unfortunately i couldn't afford all the things on that list and i threw it in the bin in front of him. This is the last year i think that he believes in Santa and really want to enjoy the childhood memories we will create. What will i say when he does open the presents that were on the list and he remembers?? I haven't told anyone as i feel a right prat for leaving the list lying around anyway Blush

Well you havent really lied as YOU aren't getting him a Monster hoodie... The Big man in Red is! :)

LOL pigleychez that would have worked except that i didn't want the Big Man to get all the adoration for my hard earned cash Grin so i have always told him that I buy the presents , send them to Santa and he decides if he has been good enough to deliver them on Christmas eve!! He does have some from Santa so maybe the hoodie will be it this year!!!

Why don't you tell him that you had written the list for santa as an aide memoir

When he opens them tell him that Santa knew he'd been so good he loaned you the money? I know it's another lie, but let's face it - Santa is a lie too :D

I don't think you should feel bad about lying, it would be horrible to know what you were getting :)

If he swallows the line that you buy the presents and send them to Santa Hmm then he'll believe anything.
