Banister safety for toddler

Hi everyone,

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, it's my first post! We're shortly moving house and it's all child-safe apart from potentially the banister. Hard to describe, but one side of the stairs is next to the wall, and the other has a banister all the way up and next to the landing. The spaces between the spindles are fine, but I'm worried that my two year old could manage to climb over the banister on the landing. Does anyone know if there's some kind of safety rail I could buy to clip on to the top of the banister to increase the height so she couldn't climb over? Thanks in advance :)

Assuming that the landing banister meets usual standards - at least 900mm high, and doesn't have horizontal rails (ie things to climb!) then I don't think you need to fret particularly that a 2yo is going to be able to climb it. Obviously you'd need to make sure you didn't put a handy chair or solid box next to it to provide a step. But I don't think an ordinary landing banister is likely to be a danger.
