Could anyone recommend a book or other suitable other Christmas gift for a couple who are to become parents for the first time in January? Would prefer to wait until after the birth for clothing or actual baby things.
Thanks.

How about a beautiful photo frame for them to put a picture of the baby in once they arrive?

Or a voucher for a photo shoot with a photography place like Venture? Someone bought this for us and we got a free framed photo with the voucher but there were so many lovely pictures we also paid for another ourselves. It was lovely because it was something we would have never done ourselves. Venture are doing them for £25 at the moment I think.

Or a voucher for a meal out together (it might be their last for a while Wink) before the baby comes?

whne i was preg with ds (first baby) SIL got us a little new born size baby vest - it was very cute - and I thought appropriate - we were fascinated at how something so small could possible fit into it!
still have it - didnt feel like any omen or anything just added to the excitement -
it was presented in a little gift box and there was a sunshine on the front -
was a nice little memento to get i thought ( it s not like we were ever going to go and get a gift boxed vest for the baby if you see what i mean )

or what about one of thoes frames for putting the scan photos in ?

Promises of dinners that they can have in the fridge/freezer and eat when they can't face cooking.

another vote for dinner idea, maybe you could write out some 'vouchers' that could be reedeemed at a later time. having dinner brought to me after I had DD was the best pressie we got!
I've got a lovely poetry anthology called 'New life' with lovely poems and songs lyrics about having a baby, I read it when I was miserable and overdue, it really got me excited.
