this is in regards to my niece who i am babysitting at the moment. she is very insecure whenever my sister leaves her, even for an hr, and cries inconsolably.

when my sister returns DN clings to her for her life and dsnt let her out of her sight even for a few minutes. otherwise she is a happy little girl but her extreme clinginess and anxiety is getting out of hand.

are there any resources which help with this
thanks

I think this is pretty normal, certainly true for my DD when I leave her at preschool which her only time away from me. From other friends I've spoken to about it it sounded like it was fairly common.

The advice I was given is that it passes in time, I think it will, just like other phases have come and gone.
