Potty training - when should I venture out to the shops??

I seem to be finding it much harder to potty train ds2 than ds1. Probably because it is winter. I started in November. He is fine at nursery - wearing pants - but pees everywhere at home. AAAAGH! Have just hit on a good solution which involves a sticker chart but he pees 20 times a day! I need to go shopping but have been told by his nursery that I should not put him in trainer pants unless he is going to bed. Any advice to avoid embarrassing incidents??
PS I am a control freak!

so, with the sticker chart he is going on the toilet?
does he still have any accidents?

i think the fact that he is fine at nursery shows that he has control of his bladder, so there should be no problem with going to shops.
jsut tell him you're going out and that he will be wearing his big boyts pants and that he must tell you if he needs to go... i bet he'll be fine!

make sure to take some spare clothes though! and maybe a potty if you have a town centre like ours with hardly any loos!

Today he had 13 hits, 4 almost made it and 3 misses! So he still has a few accidents. I think I might try taking him to the park and trying to get him used to the idea of using a potty outside of the house!
