I want to buy DS (4yo) a mid-sleeper bed that will place his mattress level with his window. Do you think that's dangerous? It's a Velux window that he wouldn't easily be able to reach from a normal, low bed. The window has an easy-to-open handle and a rather tempting flat roof immediately beneath it! I mean, he could probably climb up to the window anyway if he wanted, but placing him right there might tempt him. I've told him over and over that he mustn't open his window but you can't really trust a 4yo, can you? It's an escape window so we're not supposed to put a lock on it, though I guess we could do that until he's old enough to be trusted. WWYD?
Half of me says "don't be daft, it'll be fine" and the other half says "how could you even consider something so irresponsible"!
